I'm Back

After14 long work days and a travel day I am finally back home. The deployment had its high points and low points. An example is my 24 hour strait work day, where the high point was doing a night time burn out operation on the west side of the fire to stop an approaching head fire at 2 am. Some low points are sleep deprivation and lots of monotonous mop up for days after we contained the fire.Well that is all for today I'll tell you more later. I have some sleep to catch up on among other things.

Off I Go

Well I just got a call for me and my strike team to assemble in Williston, Fl tomorrow to help D.O.F.(Forestry) fight a 3200 acre and growing wildfire in the Goethe State Forest . When we are deployed on large incidents like this we are told to be prepared to stay the full 14 day .So it may be awhile before I can publish another post, but when I return I should have some good stories to tell you guys.

Helow All

Today I would like to talk about the implications of the link I posted below about China saying the U.S. is Defaulting on it's dept (imagine that). It would not surprise me that it is already happening, and it will be interesting if this news and the implications from it spread. If you recall James Rawles in his excellent novel Patriots(I highly recommend his works) Starts the  market crash on page 13 with a German Chairman making a comment about "a full scale default on U.S. Treasuries appears imminent".So thinking about that and reading this article claiming the U.S. is defaulting, and in the meanwhile China has been dumping U.S. treasuries heavily for the last 5 months. Makes you wander doesn't it?

This Blog's Agenda

Something valuable I learned from a book called The Art Of None Conformity by Chris Guillebeau (link is posted on my site) is whenever you read something, look for the author's agenda behind it. So to save you time figuring out what mine is, I will tell you up front. The purpose of this blog is to ultimately influence the world for good first by spreading info about self betterment and self sufficiency, and second to give me a place to write down ideas and inspirations so they will not be lost to the rest of the world.

Welcome to Samoht's lair

OK, here we are on my new blog Samoht's Lair. For those that are wondering, a lair is the home or den of an animal or creature. The creature on this blog  is Samoht (the mind of the author), and this blog is his home. To get to the point of this blog and save your time so you can continue wandering the endless expanses of the internet, this blog is for people like Samoht: unconventional thinkers, interested in liberty, free market capitalism, self betterment, and self sufficiency. So if that sounds interesting to you, read on; if not, feel free to continue your wandering, and thank you for your time.

This blog is brand new and a work in progress, so if you just stumbled across it, forgive me for not having everything set up yet. Hopefully, your interest is perked, and you will bookmark this page and come back to see the completed site later.

Till next time,
